IBM Expands Digital Asset Haven for Tokenized Deposit Transactions
IBM has expanded its Digital Asset Haven platform to enable clients to instruct tokenized deposit transactions on Swift's shared ledger using standard payment messages. The company says this is part of a wider trend where banks are widening their infrastructure to handle tokenized assets, testing how digital deposits can move alongside traditional payments.
The beta ISO 20022 adapter allows institutions to connect to permissioned blockchain networks, including Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger. This means clients can now use standard payment messages instead of blockchain-specific workflows for tokenized deposit transactions.
IBM has already tested tokenized deposits on the ledger using Digital Asset Haven with financial institutions in Swift's program. The shared ledger supports bank-issued tokenized deposits and is designed to let participating IBM clients move digital assets around the clock, while final settlement still takes place through existing systems.
