IBM Expands Digital Asset Haven with Swift Connection and On-Premises Option
IBM has expanded its Digital Asset Haven platform to include two beta capabilities for financial institutions managing digital assets. The company's clients can now connect to Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger through a beta ISO 20022 Messaging Adapter feature.
This adapter allows institutions to process tokenized deposit transactions using standard ISO 20022 payment message formats, rather than blockchain-specific workflows. Seventeen institutions are currently piloting tokenized deposit transactions on the platform, with financial services industry figures indicating that 93% of institutions are modernizing their payments infrastructure.
In addition to the Swift connection, IBM is also offering an on-premises beta deployment option for Digital Asset Haven. This deployment runs on IBM Z and IBM LinuxONE infrastructure within a client's data center without public cloud dependency, and includes hardware-backed security using IBM Crypto Express HSMs.
