IBM Integrates Digital Banking Clients with Swift Blockchain Ledger
IBM has taken its digital banking infrastructure to the next level by integrating its IBM Digital Asset Haven clients with Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger. This integration will enable financial institutions and regulated organizations to have greater control over their digital asset operations.
The beta offering of IBM Digital Asset Haven's ISO 20022 Messaging Adapter allows banks to process tokenized deposit transactions using standard ISO 20022 messages, while connecting to permissioned blockchain networks.
By integrating with Swift's shared ledger, institutions can now support tokenized deposits and move digital assets 24/7 before final settlement. This is made possible through IBM's on-premises deployment, which allows clients to manage digital assets within their own data centers with greater security and control.
The company's solution also includes hardware-backed protection through IBM Crypto Express HSMs, confidential computing, secure environment partitioning, structured key ceremonies, and cold-storage capabilities. This integration reflects IBM's ongoing efforts to advance digital asset infrastructure while helping financial institutions adopt tokenized assets within established security and compliance frameworks.
