IBM Invests in BQP's Physics Acceleration Platform

BQP, a physics acceleration company, has secured a strategic investment from IBM Ventures. This investment brings BQP's total funding to $8 million and funds the expansion of its BQPhy platform beyond aerospace and defense.

The BQPhy platform runs physics and AI solvers on existing CPU and GPU systems while preparing customers for future hybrid quantum-classical computing. Since its 2025 seed round, BQP has grown contracted and committed revenue eightfold, tripled its customer base, and increased platform users twentyfold.

BQP's Founder and CEO, Abhishek Chopra, said that the industry spent years treating high-fidelity physics simulations as a hardware problem. However, he believes it was always a software problem. The company has been working on building a practical path toward hybrid quantum-classical computing, which is now being recognized by IBM Ventures.

The BQPhy platform removes the trade-off between speed and accuracy in high-fidelity physics simulations. It does this by resolving the full physics inside the decision window using the GPU capacity classical solvers leave idle. The platform has already shown impressive results in various industries, including aerospace and defense, energy, and more.
