IBM Links Systems to Swift Blockchain Ledger for Tokenized Deposits
IBM has connected its systems to Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger to enable tokenized deposit transactions for financial institutions.
The new messaging adapter uses ISO 20022, an international financial messaging standard, allowing existing payment systems to handle the issuance, transfer, and settlement of tokenized deposits.
IBM has also linked its digital asset management platform, Digital Asset Haven, to Swift's shared ledger. This allows banks to issue deposits as blockchain-based tokens and supports 24/7 digital asset transfers between financial institutions.
The beta version of Digital Asset Haven is now available on IBM Z and LinuxONE systems, enabling financial institutions to manage digital assets such as stablecoins and tokenized deposits in their own computing environments without relying on the public cloud.
