IBM, Red Hat Offer Free Cybersecurity Tool to US Universities and NGOs
IBM and Red Hat have launched a program to provide free access to their Lightwell platform for over 185 research universities and 100 non-governmental organizations in the US.
Lightwell uses AI-driven automation and human engineering expertise to identify, validate, and remediate open-source software vulnerabilities. The program aims to help institutions secure software used for research, education, and mission-critical operations.
The participating institutions will receive access to Lightwell's library of validated fixes for open-source software vulnerabilities. This service delivers fixes for specific software versions currently in use, helping address vulnerabilities without requiring disruptive upgrades or access to proprietary code.
