IBM Rolls Out On-Premises Beta of Digital Asset Haven
IBM has released an on-premises beta version of its Digital Asset Haven platform, which allows banks and governments to operate the digital asset platform on their own hardware. This move comes after IBM initially planned for on-premises deployment in Q2 2026 when it launched the platform in October 2025.
The on-premises version of Digital Asset Haven is now available for testing, and it runs on clients' own IBM Z and LinuxONE hardware. Signing keys are stored safely in Crypto Express chips built into these machines, ensuring secure transactions.
IBM has also released a beta version that connects to Swift's shared ledger for tokenized deposits through an ISO 20022 adapter. This allows banks to send payment messages, which are then converted into tokenized deposit orders on the ledger.
The availability of Digital Asset Haven in different configurations can offer up to 99.999999% availability, according to IBM. The platform's hybrid edition shares the same APIs and workflows as its SaaS and on-premises versions, making it easy for banks to switch between them.
