IBM Secures Multi-Million-Dollar Deal for $2.5 Billion Quantum Computing Lab

The Dutchess County IDA has approved a PILOT program for IBM's proposed $2.5 billion Quantum Computing Lab in the town of Poughkeepsie. The lab is expected to create both construction jobs and high-wage IBM jobs once completed.

IBM will make annual payments of approximately $6 million to $8 million to Dutchess County, the Town of Poughkeepsie, and the Spackenkill Union Free School District.

The Quantum project is the largest in Dutchess County's history. The IDA's approval comes after a negotiated agreement with IBM worth $54 million.
