IBM stock is trading higher after announcing its partnership with Nvidia to create an AI-agent safety platform. The platform, which connects Agent Identity and HashiCorp Vault to Nvidia OpenShell, aims to manage credentials and permissions for agents in hybrid-cloud systems.

The collaboration includes several products that IBM could sell around this emerging workload, including IBM Fusion, which adds BlueField-4 hardware, and Red Hat OpenShift, which provides a place to run agents across hybrid-cloud systems.

Nvidia's platform also includes Sentry, which monitors agent behavior and can quarantine an agent that crosses its limits. The partnership has boosted IBM stock by 0.4% to $221.49 as of 10:18 a.m. ET Tuesday, although the shares are still about 8.8% below their GF Value of $242.97.

Investors remain cautious, waiting for evidence that customers will pay for this combination at scale and meet revenue targets. IBM has not disclosed any contract value or revenue target for the partnership.
