IBM Study Reveals Skills Gap in AI-Ready Workforce

A recent global study from the IBM Institute for Business Value highlights a disconnect between the skills that Chief Human Resource Officers (CHROs) believe AI requires and those that employees prioritize.

The study, which surveyed CHROs worldwide, found that 71% of respondents identified the ability to supervise, validate, and override AI outputs as the workforce's most essential skill.

However, only 29% of employees ranked judgment as an important skill. This discrepancy suggests a potential mismatch between the skills that employers value and those that employees focus on developing.

The study's findings have implications for organizations looking to integrate AI into their operations. To bridge the gap between employer expectations and employee priorities, companies may need to provide training programs that emphasize critical thinking and judgment skills.
