IBM Taps Harish Bharti as CTO for Asia Pacific in IBM Consulting
IBM has appointed Harish Bharti as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Asia Pacific in IBM Consulting. In his expanded role, Bharti will lead the technology agenda across the region, focusing on enterprise-scale transformation, AI adoption, and building solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.
Bharti, who has been with IBM for a long time, has experience spanning enterprise architecture, cloud transformation, application modernisation, and technology innovation. He was previously responsible for technology leadership in IBM Consulting's core systems modernisation business and has held senior technical and architecture roles throughout his tenure.
In his new role, Bharti will help organisations address complex technology challenges, scale AI initiatives, and build agentic AI systems that can perform reliably in production environments. He highlighted the region's focus on moving beyond AI adoption to rethink how technology can operate at scale, with a key priority being the development of reliable AI systems.
Bharti has over 22 years of experience designing business solutions across multiple technologies and has filed over 129 patents related to cloud computing, blockchain, cognitive computing, microservices, mobility, digital integration, and the Internet of Things. His patent portfolio includes 91 granted patents, with recent work focused on AI-driven insights for edge computing.
