IBM Taps Swift's Shared Ledger for Tokenized-Deposit Transactions
IBM has connected its Digital Asset Haven platform to Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger for tokenized-deposit transactions. The company announced a beta ISO 20022 adapter that enables financial institutions to use standard payment messages to initiate activity on the ledger.
The integration links tokenized-deposit workflows with existing payment-messaging and settlement arrangements, allowing clients of Digital Asset Haven to access Swift's shared ledger for digital-asset movement before final settlement. This connection is presented as a link to existing infrastructure, not a separate payment rail.
The project has progressed from concept to activation in less than nine months, according to IBM. The adapter and the on-premises deployment of Digital Asset Haven are currently in an early testing phase, with first-mover institutions piloting the technology.
