IBM has released an on-premises beta of Digital Asset Haven, allowing banks to run the platform on their own IBM Z and LinuxONE hardware. This move comes after missing its initial target of Q2 2026 for this capability.

The goal of this initiative is to facilitate institutional crypto adoption and custody by emphasizing on-premises security and control. By doing so, it aims to address regulatory and security concerns that have hindered bank participation in crypto and DeFi.

IBM's Digital Asset Haven targets the needs of banks and financial institutions, providing a secure environment for managing digital assets. With this beta release, IBM is taking steps towards accelerating institutional adoption of crypto and addressing the challenges associated with it.
