IBM Unveils Self-Hosted Bob, Narrowing Revenue Outlook
IBM has launched self-hosted Bob, its agentic software development platform, for deployment in on-premises, private-cloud, sovereign-cloud, and air-gapped environments. This move addresses a specific enterprise constraint by allowing organizations with regulated data or mission-critical systems to run supported licensed models locally.
The company's revenue grew 1% year over year to USD 17.16 billion in the second quarter of 2026, while net income was USD 2.17 billion for the quarter, down 1% from last year. Management narrowed the full-year 2026 constant-currency revenue outlook to 4-5% from more than 5% previously.
IBM's stock price has increased by 0.54% to EUR 201.93 at Lang & Schwarz on October 2, 2026, compared to its prior close of EUR 200.85. The next earnings report is scheduled for October 21, 2026, which will test whether the second-quarter slowdown reflects delayed deals or a more persistent shift in infrastructure demand.
