IBM Welcomes Siris Co-founder Frank Baker to Its Board
IBM has added Frank Baker, co-founder and Managing Partner of Siris Capital Group, to its board of directors, effective immediately. Baker brings extensive private equity experience to IBM, as Siris Capital has deployed over $9 billion in equity capital since its founding. IBM’s chairman, president, and CEO Arvind Krishna expressed enthusiasm about Baker’s addition, noting his insights will support IBM’s long-term vision.
Baker’s expertise lies in guiding established technology firms through transitions and driving value creation. At Siris Capital, he oversees the firm’s investment strategy and portfolio, focusing on enhancing products and services. This experience is expected to aid IBM in its enterprise-wide transformation efforts. Beyond his financial background, Baker serves as Chairman of the Board for the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center, demonstrating a commitment to broader societal impact.
Additionally, Baker is a trustee at Deerfield Academy, highlighting his engagement with educational institutions. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in economics, further underscoring his qualifications. IBM anticipates that Baker’s strategic oversight will be instrumental as the company advances its technological initiatives.
