IBM's AI Platform Now Available in Controlled Environments
IBM has introduced self-hosted deployment for its AI software development platform, IBM Bob. This allows organizations to bring AI-powered software development and modernization capabilities directly to their controlled infrastructure, including on-premises, private-cloud, sovereign-cloud, and air-gapped environments.
The option is designed for organizations that require greater control over data residency, security policies, and AI governance, particularly those in regulated industries. Unlike many AI coding tools, IBM Bob's self-hosted deployment does not require moving sensitive code or data to external services.
According to a report from Futurum Research, hybrid and edge deployments are projected to capture 44% of the AI infrastructure market by 2030. IBM Bob's self-hosted deployment is specifically designed for organizations that need sovereign control alongside ecosystem connectivity.
