IBM's Technology Narrative Falls Short as Stock Struggles
IBM has been busy assembling a broad technology narrative that spans regulatory compliance software to the Moon's surface, yet its stock struggles to reflect this momentum.
The company recently expanded its collaboration with CUBE in AI governance by integrating CUBE's regulatory data into the 'Regulatory Horizon Scanning' function of watsonx.governance. This pairing aims to help enterprises track and comply with artificial intelligence laws across multiple jurisdictions.
IBM also unveiled the 'NASA-IBM Lunar Foundation Model' in partnership with NASA, an open-source system designed to identify lunar craters, water ice, and other surface structures using data from four separate NASA missions.
The company is investing heavily in its technological base through acquisitions, such as the purchase of HRL Laboratories, LLC, a research institute co-owned by Boeing and General Motors. IBM is also examining operational obstacles arising from AI adoption, including the importance of critical-thinking skills among employees.
