IE Mode Deadline Set for 2029: Businesses Must Plan Now

Microsoft has announced that Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge will remain supported until at least the end of 2029. This decision affects organizations still relying on old internal apps that require legacy rendering technology.

The company recommends that businesses begin mapping their remaining dependencies now, as they will have at least a year's notice before IE mode is retired.

IE mode uses the Trident/MSHTML engine for designated sites, supporting features like document modes and ActiveX controls that older business software may still expect.
