Iger's Legacy at Disney Recognized with Personalized Main Street Window
Bob Iger's legacy at Disney has been recognized in a special way. The former CEO now has his own personalized window on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland. This honor is one of the most significant recognitions the company gives to individuals who have left their mark.
The window above the Emporium entrance features Iger as 'Chief Architect for New Century Builders' with a motto that says 'Looking forward to your tomorrow!' The design incorporates words reflecting his tenure, including 'courageous,' 'confidence,' 'excellence,' 'innovation,' 'curiosity,' and 'optimism.'
During the dedication ceremony, Iger spoke about what this meant to him. 'I stand here with a deep sense of wonder and humility and appreciation and gratitude for having the opportunity not just to work for the company that Walt Disney founded, but to run the company that he founded, and then to have the opportunity to be given this,' he said.
The tradition of honoring individuals with windows on Main Street dates back to Disneyland's opening in 1955. Walt Disney himself originally selected the names, recognizing those who helped bring the park to life. With Iger's addition, his name joins generations of Imagineers and executives who shaped the resort into what it is today.
