IIT Bombay, IISc Partner with IBM on Next-Gen AI, Quantum Computing Research

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) have expanded their research collaborations with IBM to advance work in emerging technologies, including agentic AI, sovereign AI, Indic language models, quantum computing, and next-generation computing systems.

The partnerships will focus on developing AI solutions for Indian languages, hybrid cloud environments, and energy analytics. Researchers from IIT Bombay and IBM will explore methods to adapt and optimize AI models to support multiple Indian languages more efficiently.

IISc and IBM will also expand their research into newer areas, including agentic AI systems, AI applications, and the development of algorithms for quantum computing. The partnership will explore agentic AI workflows designed to improve task coordination across hybrid cloud environments.
