India Data Breach Costs Soar to Record High

The average cost of a data breach in India has reached an all-time high of Rs 25.5 crore, according to a report by IBM. This represents a 16% increase from the previous year's figure of Rs 22 crore. The scale of data breaches also increased during the same period, with an average of 39,500 records compromised per breach.

IBM noted that the growing financial impact of cyberattacks on organisations highlights the importance of robust cybersecurity measures. These include stronger data protection practices, continuous monitoring, rapid incident response, and investment in advanced security technologies to reduce the financial and operational consequences of data breaches.
