India Warns Citizens About Fake Job Promises in Malaysia

The Indian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has issued a warning to its nationals about using Malaysia's 30-day visa-free entry facility for employment. The commission reports that there has been an increase in Indians arriving in Malaysia under this program to seek work, but these individuals are often misled by unscrupulous agents who promise jobs.

The High Commission emphasizes that the 30-day visa-free facility is only meant for tourism and social visits, not for taking up employment. Indian nationals traveling to Malaysia for work must first obtain a valid work permit or visa with reference (VDR).

The commission advises genuine tourists to carry valid documents, including a confirmed return ticket and hotel booking details. They must also submit the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) online at least three days before arrival.
