India Warns Citizens Against Using Visa-Free Entry to Seek Jobs in Malaysia

India's High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has issued an advisory to Indian nationals in Malaysia warning them against using the country's 30-day visa-free entry facility to seek employment. The move comes after a noticeable rise in Indians arriving in Malaysia on tourist visas, lured by false job promises from unscrupulous agents.

The High Commission emphasized that the visa-free entry is meant for tourism and social visits only, not for employment. Traveling to Malaysia on a tourist visa and then taking up work is considered a violation of immigration rules and can lead to serious consequences such as detention, exploitation, and legal action.

The advisory also stressed the importance of carrying valid documents, including a confirmed return ticket, hotel booking, online submission of the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card three days before arrival, and a passport with at least six months' validity to avoid immigration-related issues on arrival in Malaysia.
