India Warns Nationals Against Misusing Malaysia's Visa-Free Entry
India's High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has issued an advisory to Indian nationals traveling to Malaysia regarding the misuse of the country's 30-day visa-free entry facility.
The commission stated that it has noticed a significant increase in Indians arriving in Malaysia on tourist visas seeking employment, which is not permitted under the visa-free facility. The High Commission noted that many Indians are being misled by unscrupulous agents with false job promises, leading to overstay, exploitation, and legal action.
The advisory emphasized that the 30-day visa-free facility is meant for tourism and social visits only, and not for employment purposes. It warned Indian nationals against traveling to Malaysia for work or employment without a valid work permit or visa with reference (VDR).
