India's Data Breach Costs Soar to Record High
The average cost of a data breach in India has reached an all-time high of Rs 25.5 crore, according to IBM's latest report.
This represents a 15.9% increase from last year's figure of Rs 22 crore, and highlights the growing threat of cyberattacks in the country.
The report found that AI-generated breaches accounted for 26% of malicious incidents in India, and warned that cybersecurity experts are concerned about the increasing sophistication of these attacks.
Cybersecurity expert Gaurav Agarwal said that organisations using AI and strong governance were better positioned to fend off cyberattacks, but noted that most businesses currently apply AI in limited ways, often focused on detection.
