Industrious Brings Hologram-Like Google Beam Meeting Rooms to Select Locations
Industrious, a leading flexible workplace company, has partnered with Google to launch a network of Google Beam meeting rooms at select locations. The innovative technology uses artificial intelligence to render participants in their true size and spatial audio to position voices as if they were in the same room.
The first rooms will be available in New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, and Palo Alto, California starting in October. Industrious locations equipped with Google Beam will include Tower 49 in New York City, Ponce City Market in Atlanta, the Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago, and East Palo Alto.
According to Carlos Becil, chief product officer at Industrious, 'What makes Beam special is how natural the conversation feels.' He added that the technology offers a face-to-face experience across cities thousands of miles apart, something new for the company's members. The rooms with Google Beam are complimentary for Industrious members and bookable for non-members.
Google research claims that the technology produces a 50 percent stronger sense of social connection and a 21 percent increase in people's reported ability to contribute to conversations. The true-to-life presence and authentic connection across cities can boost attentiveness, deepen nonverbal engagement, and reduce meeting fatigue, according to Google.
