Iowa Courts Top-Rated Guard Erin Thomas in Recruiting Push

Iowa's women's basketball team has offered a scholarship to Erin Thomas, a four-star guard from Cincinnati, Ohio. The 6-foot-1 prospect is rated as No. 19 overall and No. 7 shooting guard in the class of 2028 by Rivals. She also stars for the Sports City Angels 17U Nike EYBL club program.

In her sophomore season, Thomas averaged 19.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.9 steals, and 1.9 assists per game on 47.4% field goal shooting, 36.4% three-point shooting, and 83.2% free-throw shooting in 24 games played.

Iowa joins a long list of programs vying for Thomas' commitment, including Kentucky, North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Florida State, Texas A&M, Michigan, Michigan State, Maryland, Penn State, Oregon, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Purdue. Jan Jensen hopes Iowa's reputation for developing talent will help secure Thomas' commitment.
