Iraq Inks Deal with Chevron for Technical Consultancy on West Qurna-2 Oilfield

Iraq's Ministry of Oil has signed an agreement with US energy giant Chevron to provide technical consultancy services for the state-run Basra Oil Company in developing the West Qurna-2 oilfield.

The agreement was signed under the patronage of Iraqi Oil Minister Bassem Mohammed Khudair Al-Abadi, according to a statement issued by the ministry's Government Media and Communications Office.

Basra Oil Company will receive technical consultancy services from Chevron as it negotiates the development of West Qurna-2, one of Iraq's major oilfields.
