Israel Considers Purchasing Boeing's P-8 Poseidon Aircraft for Submarine Warfare
The Israeli Navy is considering purchasing Boeing's P-8 Poseidon aircraft to expand its covert maritime operations and counter growing submarine threats.
A senior Defense Ministry source told Walla that Israel is seriously examining an acquisition of the P-8 aircraft, which would be used for anti-submarine warfare and other advanced maritime missions.
The P-8 Poseidon is a reconnaissance and surveillance aircraft based on the Boeing 737 platform. It's equipped with advanced technologies such as acoustic sensors, torpedo capabilities, artificial intelligence integration, and powerful radar systems.
Other countries that have purchased the P-8 Poseidon include the US, India, Australia, the UK, Canada, Norway, New Zealand, South Korea, and Germany.
