Japan Airlines Extends Lufthansa Technik Partnership Until 2036
Japan Airlines has renewed its Total Component Support (TCS) agreement with Lufthansa Technik for its Boeing 787 fleet. The five-year extension, which runs through at least 2036, covers up to 67 aircraft and includes additional part-number coverage.
The TCS agreement provides maintenance, reliability management, and logistics services for a range of components installed on Japan Airlines' Dreamliners. Lufthansa Technik also offers access to its worldwide pool of spare parts, ensuring long-term operational reliability for one of the largest Boeing 787 fleets in service.
In addition to the TCS agreement, Japan Airlines and Lufthansa Technik have signed a new contract for exclusive Boeing 787 GEnx-1B engine thrust reverser and inlet cowl support. This five-year deal covers spare and repair services performed by Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen.
Kyohei Takizawa, Vice President of Aircraft and Engineering Procurement at Japan Airlines, stated that the partnership with Lufthansa Technik is built on trust and has been delivering high-quality component support for nearly two decades. Dennis Kohr, Senior Vice President Corporate Sales Asia Pacific at Lufthansa Technik, added that the contract renewal and new agreement reflect a strong, long-term partnership.
The signings reaffirm one of the most comprehensive MRO partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region between Japan Airlines and Lufthansa Technik. The companies have been working together for nearly two decades, with Lufthansa Technik providing Single Component Maintenance (SCM) support for Japan Airlines' Boeing fleet and Airframe Related Component (ARC) support through Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen since 2007.
