JKMAX Heated Blankets and Pads Recalled Over Fire and Burn Hazards
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of approximately 195,000 JKMAX heated blankets and heating pads sold on Amazon from September 2022 through July 2026.
The recall was initiated due to reports of overheating internal wire elements posing fire and burn hazards. Since the products' introduction, JKMAX received 577 reports of smoking, melting or burning heating elements, including 53 reported burn injuries.
JKMAX is offering a full refund for the recalled products. Consumers should stop using the blankets and pads immediately. To initiate the refund process, they can contact JKMAX toll-free at 800-917-5732 from 8:30 am to 6 pm Eastern time Monday through Friday or email JkmaxRecall@outlook.com.
The recalled products include models JKMAX-002, JKMAX-7284B, JKMAX-6284B, JKMAX-10090B, JKMAX-8490B and JKMAX-6284B. They were sold in multiple sizes as one- or two-packs and included a detachable white remote used to adjust the heat.
