JNJ Leadership Shifts as Oncology Push Supports Raised Sales Guidance
Johnson & Johnson's leadership has undergone a significant change with the retirement of Jennifer Taubert, who led the company's Innovative Medicine division for over 21 years. She will be replaced by Tom Cavanaugh on September 1, 2026.
Taubert's tenure saw the division grow into a $60 billion annual revenue franchise, and she played a key role in establishing Johnson & Johnson as a global pharmaceutical leader.
Cavanaugh brings extensive experience in oncology, immunology, and commercial operations to his new role. He will oversee the next phase of growth for Innovative Medicine.
The FDA has granted Priority Review status to subcutaneous amivantamab in head and neck cancer, which could act as a near-term sentiment catalyst for Johnson & Johnson. This decision is part of the company's broader oncology push, including progress with RYBREVANT FASPRO in non-small cell lung cancer.
The Priority Review highlights the importance of oncology candidates in offsetting patent expiries and orthopedics headwinds. These programs are expected to support Johnson & Johnson's raised 2026 sales guidance of $100.8 billion to $101.4 billion.
