JPMorgan: Asian Tech Stocks Correction Not the End of AI Cycle
A recent correction in Asian tech stocks and semiconductor sector has sparked concerns about the sustainability of artificial intelligence (AI) investment. However, JPMorgan's latest report suggests that this 25-30% stock price adjustment is not the end of the AI cycle.
The bank argues that industry fundamentals remain strong and that the market is pricing in a low-probability downturn scenario. In its report, JPMorgan stated that putting aside stock price volatility, there are no fundamental indicators suggesting significant weakness over the next 6-12 months.
JPMorgan believes the core drivers of the current AI cycle remain solid, including improving frontier AI models and robust demand for AI inference capabilities. The bank also expects hyperscale cloud providers to continue investing in AI infrastructure and finance future investments through equity and bond markets.
Looking across the semiconductor supply chain, JPMorgan expects clear divergence among sub-sectors. Semiconductor equipment manufacturers are seen as having significant growth potential, while the memory chip industry faces a more complex market environment.
