JPMorgan Boosts Year-End S&P 500 Target to 8,000 Amid Strong Earnings
The S&P 500 index has reached new heights after its best week since April, closing at a record high of 7,757.64 on Friday.
This marks a strong five-day performance for the benchmark, with a 3.58% increase and an average year-end forecast of 7,845 from Wall Street.
JPMorgan has raised its 2026 year-end S&P 500 target to 8,000 from 7,800, implying 3.1% upside from Friday's close.
The bank cited higher-for-longer rates, geopolitical risk, and heavy equity and debt supply as reasons for the increase, while also noting a strong and broad-based earnings picture across multiple sectors.
JPMorgan's revised target reflects an upward revision of roughly 800 points since March, when the bank cut its forecast to 7,200 due to Brent crude spikes and the Strait of Hormuz closure.
