JPMorgan Commits $750 Billion to Boost US Housing Supply
JPMorgan Chase has announced a major investment in the US housing market, aiming to increase supply and support homeownership. The bank will invest over $750 billion through 2035, marking a nearly 40% increase in its housing capital deployment compared to the past decade.
The initiative is part of JPMorgan's American Dream Initiative, which aims to expand opportunity to millions of Americans and future generations through targeted investments in local communities. The bank will provide financing for 1 million affordable housing units and help 500,000 homebuyers purchase homes.
JPMorgan says it will deepen collaboration with policymakers and community partners to accelerate and scale state and local solutions that help create more housing at all income levels. This includes policies such as streamlined zoning, building codes, permitting, expanded tax credits, and public-private partnerships.
