JPMorgan Commits $750B to Housing Efforts Through 2035
JPMorgan Chase is committing to spend more than $750 billion on housing efforts through 2035, a significant increase in its housing capital deployment. This announcement comes after the bank originated over $5 billion in debt and equity tied to affordable housing in the first three quarters of 2025.
The bank plans to use various financing methods, including debt, equity, and grants, to build or preserve over 1 million affordable units. It also aims to increase mortgage lending to help 500,000 people purchase homes, with 40% of them being first-time homebuyers.
JPMorgan will work with policymakers and local communities to implement initiatives such as streamlined zoning, updated building codes, and public-private partnerships to aid in housing affordability. The bank will also leverage the recently enacted 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act.
