JPMorgan Employee Sues Bank Over Alleged Anti-Gay Harassment
A gay JPMorgan employee has filed a lawsuit against the bank, alleging workplace harassment over his LGBTQ+ advocacy and forced resignation.
Brian Larson, an openly gay senior associate at JPMorgan Chase, claims he was harassed by his supervisor Peter Bergman because of his sexual orientation and involvement with PRIDE Tri-State, a group supporting LGBTQ+ employees.
Larson alleges that Bergman confronted him during a Zoom meeting in June 2022, telling him to keep his 'gay job separate from his day job' and questioning whether his work with the Pride group was affecting his responsibilities.
JPMorgan has denied the allegations, stating that an internal investigation found no evidence to support Larson's claims. The bank also said managers had raised concerns about his performance and provided coaching.
