JPMorgan Employee Sues Bank Over Alleged Anti-Gay Harassment

JPMorgan Chase is facing a lawsuit from an employee who claims he was harassed and retaliated against due to his involvement in a Pride group for LGBTQ+ employees. Brian Larson, a senior associate at the bank, alleges that his supervisor, Peter Bergman, repeatedly questioned him about his work with PRIDE Tri-State and told him to keep his 'gay job separate from his day job.'

The incident allegedly took place during an unexpected Zoom meeting in June 2022. According to Larson's complaint, Bergman said, 'Your work is not suffering now, but I could see it happening' when Larson asked whether his performance was being affected.

JPMorgan Chase has denied the claims, citing an internal investigation that found no evidence of harassment or retaliation. The bank has also stated that Larson's involvement in the Pride group did not affect his job responsibilities.
