JPMorgan Chase & Co is facing scrutiny after The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. federal prosecutors reviewed whistleblower claims alleging the bank mishandled fraud cases and improperly denied customers more than $100 million in reimbursements.

The whistleblower complaint, filed by Christy Lillie, JPMorgan's former head of scam prevention, claimed the bank classified certain customer losses as scams rather than fraud, allowing it to deny reimbursement claims.

JPMorgan rejected the allegations, stating that they 'have no merit' and that their policies met or exceeded legal requirements.
