JPMorgan Joins Open Agent-Safety Collaboration with Nvidia

JPMorgan Chase, the global banking and financial-services company, has joined Nvidia's open-source agent-safety collaboration announced on September 28.

The project, OpenShell, sets boundaries for AI agents to prevent them from taking on sensitive work without proper limits. Another tool, Sentry, can quarantine an agent within milliseconds if it steps outside those boundaries.

JPMorgan and Citi are working together on shared safety technologies, although the announcement did not disclose the project scope or a production timetable.

Investors should be cautious when considering JPMorgan's participation in this collaboration. While joining the project may lead to lower operating costs, fewer losses, or broader deployment in banking workflows, there is currently no evidence of these benefits.
