JPMorgan Sees India Economy Nearly Tripling by 2036
JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has made a bold prediction about India's economy. He believes it will nearly triple in size over the next decade, making it one of the fastest-growing economies in the world.
This forecast comes as JPMorgan is expanding its operations in India, with plans to increase its research coverage from 200 companies to 400 and employee count from 60,000 to an unspecified number. Dimon emphasized the importance of cooperation between governments and businesses in driving growth, citing the need for consistency in trade and investment rules.
Dimon also highlighted global economic threats such as persistent inflation, elevated government borrowing, and geopolitical tensions, which could push demand for capital higher. He noted that AI-related infrastructure investments could eventually boost productivity and create deflationary pressures.
