JPMorgan Sees Strong Growth Ahead Despite Market Volatility

JPMorgan Chase's Co-President Doug Petno expressed optimism about the bank's investment banking and trading revenue for the third quarter. In a Barclays-hosted investor conference, he stated that both areas are expected to experience growth in the 'mid-to-high teens' percentage range year-over-year.

Petno attributed this strong performance to active dealmaking, which is boosting investment banking fees. He also noted that clients are adapting well to market volatility and uncertainty, reflecting the diversity and underlying strength of the US economy.

The bank's shares rose by as much as 0.9% following the announcement, erasing losses accumulated earlier in the day.

JPMorgan's outlook contrasts with Bank of America's cautious view expressed earlier this week, which expects third-quarter trading revenue to be 'relatively flat' year-over-year.
