JPMorgan Shares Expected to Swing 3.2% on Earnings Report
JPMorgan Chase & Co. shares are expected to experience a 3.2% move when the bank releases its earnings report on October 13, according to options data compiled by Bloomberg. This projection comes as investors anticipate the market's reaction to the financial results.
The data suggests that the stock price has historically moved more than the implied range in four of the past eight earnings announcements. For instance, on July 14, the options indicated a 3.5% move, but the actual change was only 1.5%. Conversely, on April 14, a 3.6% implied move preceded a 5.3% price change.
In other instances, the stock's performance deviated significantly from the implied range. On January 13, the stock fell 6.9% against a 3.0% implied move. Similarly, on October 14, 2025, the stock dropped 2.3% compared to a 3.7% implied move.
The pattern of unexpected movements continues with other dates. On July 15, 2025, shares fell 1.9% against a 3.5% implied move, while on April 11, 2025, the stock rose 3.3% compared to a 4.1% implied move. On January 15, 2025, shares increased 3.8% against a 3.2% implied move, and on October 11, 2024, the stock jumped 8.3% compared to a 3.4% implied move.
