JPMorgan Slumps 3.8% on $2.6 Billion AI Deal, Valuation Warning
JPMorgan Chase, the global banking and financial-services giant, saw its shares fall about 3.8% to $338.65 after backing a major AI-linked transaction in Hong Kong. The bank participated in Victory Giant Technology's roughly $2.6 billion share sale, which is significant because it connects with China's computing expansion. Printed circuit boards are used by Victory Giant to connect hardware inside AI servers.
The offering documents listed J.P. Morgan Securities as one of the participating banks. JPMorgan told Reuters that its geopolitical business decisions remain subject to legal, regulatory and risk-management controls.
One analyst's chart suggests a valuation warning: JPMorgan's share price sits 10.08% above its $307.64 GF Value estimate. This premium indicates investors already expect strong execution from the bank, leaving less room for disappointment.
