JPMorgan Stock Target Hits $428 in 2030 Amid Record Quarter
JPMorgan Chase reported strong second-quarter results in 2026, with net income of $16.9 billion and an ROTCE (Return on Tangible Common Equity) of 23%. This performance gave the Board cover to raise the quarterly dividend from $1.50 to $1.65 per share, effective in the third quarter.
The decision was announced by CFO Jeremy Barnum during the Q2 call, who also highlighted the firm's record quarter across nearly every line. Revenue climbed 15% year-over-year, driven mainly by Markets and higher fees across Asset & Wealth Management and the Consumer bank. Expenses rose by the same 15%, tied to volume and revenue-related costs plus continued hiring.
The dividend increase is notable, as it marks the first change in a year, following four consecutive quarters of holding the payout at $1.50 per share. The move is also significant, given that the payout ratio has fallen sharply from its peak two quarters earlier to 20.52%, providing room for further increases without straining coverage.
