JPMorgan Taps Mark O'Donovan as New Global Head of HR Amid AI-Driven Workforce Transformation
JPMorgan Chase has appointed Mark O'Donovan as its new global head of Human Resources, succeeding Robin Leopold. The appointment comes at a time when the bank is undergoing significant workforce transformation driven by artificial intelligence and evolving operating models.
O'Donovan, a 30-year JPMorgan veteran, will take over the role in January and work with Leopold until his retirement in March 2027 to ensure a smooth transition. He has held various senior positions at the bank, including CEO of Chase Auto and Chief Financial Officer of the Commercial & Investment Bank.
The incoming HR chief will oversee talent planning, reskilling, and workforce transitions as AI increasingly influences how work is organised across financial services. JPMorgan has allocated approximately $20 billion annually to technology initiatives, including AI infrastructure that includes access to models from OpenAI and Anthropic.
