A Washington state court has appointed retired King County Superior Court Judge Bruce W. Hilyer to oversee discovery matters in over a dozen lawsuits related to the January 2024 blowout of a Boeing 737 Max 9 jet door plug.
The incident allegedly left passengers with physical and emotional injuries, prompting multiple lawsuits against the aircraft manufacturer.
Judge Hilyer's appointment comes as part of a growing number of legal actions related to the faulty door plug issue.
