Jury Deliberates in Murder-For-Hire Case Against Ex-Wife and Husband
A Florida jury is deliberating in the case of Jared Bridegan's murder, who was gunned down four years ago while changing a tire on Jacksonville Beach. Prosecutors claim his wealthy ex-wife and her husband orchestrated the hit to settle a custody dispute over their twins.
Bridegan, a Microsoft design manager, was shot twice after stopping his SUV to remove a tire from the road in February 2022. His daughter sat nearby in the car seat at the time of the attack.
The prosecution believes Bridegan's ex-wife, Shanna Gardner, and her husband, Mario Fernandez Saldana, made preparations for the murder months before it happened. Fernandez Saldana is charged with first-degree murder and solicitation of murder, while Gardner's trial is set to start in September.
