Kalshi Seeks Regulatory Approval for Single-Stock Perpetual Futures

Kalshi Inc., a New York-based company, is planning to file for regulatory approval in the US to offer single-stock perpetual futures. The proposed contracts would allow investors to buy and sell perpetual futures on shares of Tesla (TSLA), Apple (AAPL), and Nvidia Corp.

The move represents an attempt by newer trading platforms to compete with established financial market infrastructure, according to Tarek Mansour, co-founder and CEO of Kalshi. The company is seeking joint regulation of the perpetual futures as a security futures product from both the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Kalshi aims to submit its application next week to the regulatory bodies. If approved, this would mark the first single-stock perpetual futures offered in the US.
