Kazakhstan, Nvidia Unveil Plans for Joint Data Center Expansion
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Nvidia Vice President Rev Lebaredian to discuss expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and computing infrastructure. The two leaders acknowledged Nvidia's key role in shaping the global AI ecosystem, highlighting its importance for Kazakhstan's priority economic sectors.
Notably, two supercomputing clusters based on Nvidia technology have already been launched in Kazakhstan, demonstrating a strong foundation for their cooperation. Specifically, attention was given to the implementation of the Data Center Valley project in Ekibastuz, which aims to develop computing infrastructure with an initial capacity of approximately 300 MW and potential to increase it to 1 GW.
Tokayev emphasized the significance of agreements reached with Nvidia and Firebird for the successful implementation of the Data Center Valley project. Lebaredian praised Kazakhstan's progress in developing AI infrastructure and outlined Nvidia's plans to participate in the next stage of the Data Center Valley project, further expanding their cooperation in artificial intelligence and digital technologies.
The meeting also covered human capital development and the technology ecosystem in Kazakhstan.
